Updates from the Parent Informational Meeting - 4/26
If you missed the parent meeting - please find the link for the recording under the Home tab in "Expectations". It is in google Drive, so I will have to grant access-just click on it and I will do so as quickly as possible.
2 important points of clarification from the meeting.
1. Any athlete participating in club sports needs to have permission from our Athletic Director, Mr. Anderson to do so in conjunction with a CHSAA sanctioned Track and Field Season. A form must be signed with Mr. Anderson before your 1st competition.
2. Beginning 14 days after a 2nd vaccination, athletes are exempt from quarantines.
Important: This week we will be issuing uniforms and getting entries ready for The Palmer Terror Invite this weekend. You will need to return the last page of the handbook/guidelines with a parent signature to be able to compete in the meets this week!
Monday, 5/3-Practice at AAHS 3:15-5:30. All groups
Tuesday, 5/4- Practice at AAHS 3:15-5:30. All groups. Tuesday we will be finalizing entries for this week's meets.

We have a limited number of entries per event this week so we want to ensure the athletes we enter are ready to compete!! (this meet is a JV Meet-grades 9-12 and not a Frosh/Soph Meet). Friday we will have practice at AAHS 3:15-5:30 for those athletes that are competing on Saturday!

Pre-Season Training - if you are interested in getting involved in pre-season workouts please email Coach Kim at [email protected] or Coach Schwartz at [email protected]. Please respond by March 31st and indicate your interest. We are starting our April round of pre-season training on April 5th-if you are interested in getting involved please let us know. All participation prior to April 26th is voluntary but let us know as we have to set up cohort groups for training based on Covid Protocals. To get started in preseason training you will need to provide proof of a current physical and you will need to follow all Covid Guidelines for practice: 1. Wear mask to practice (when workout begins you can remove your mask but you must keep it in your possession). 2. Athletes must mask up when a coach requests during instruction or when social distancing is not possible. 3. Athletes must exit practice with mask on and must not congregate in groups prior to leaving practice. 4. All athletes must bring cell phone and take a covid screening via QR Code for tracking purposes before being admitted to practice.
All pre-season workout are voluntary, however if an athlete attend the expectation is to COMPLETE the Air Academy Coach's prescribed workout. If you have additional questions contact Coach Schwartz or Coach Whitaker.

Week of March 8th-March 13th: We will have 3 after school distance workouts this week: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we will be meeting at 3:15 at the Air Academy High School Track. If you plan on coming to run on any of those days please email me at [email protected] and let me know if you are going to attend. We will be following current Covid guidelines-groups of 25 or less, masks must be worn to and from practice (athletes will be allowed to take off masks when workout has begun), social distancing and each athlete must take a screening with your cell phone prior to being admitted to practice. Also, once an athlete has begun training with a group we will need to make sure you stay in that group for 2 weeks at a time. Tuesday and Wednesday will be distance runs and Thursday will be a harder tempo workout. In addition to the workouts we will be providing athletes with a pre-season training schedule and some recommendations for March and April. Contact Coach Schwartz for additional information and also to let me know if you are planning on attending.

AAHS Virtual Team Meeting - April 4th, 2020
It was great to see everyone who came to the schoology video conference today! Even if it was only a chat box for some!
Recap: No new developments other than what you already know... we are hoping for a short season, but it isn't looking to good with California, New Mexico, Kansas and many other states who have cancelled all Spring activities setting the precedents. But, first and foremost we want everyone to be safe and healthy and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone suffering throughout the world. Let's be grateful and prepare for the future! So HANG IN THERE KADETS! We will BE BACK!!! Use the time now to get stronger mentally, work on our families, appreciate the gifts found in friendships and not take anything for granted! We will have another Virtual Team meeting Wednesday night at 7:00 on schoology - If you haven't already, join AAHS Track and Field group on schoology - The Access Code has been Reminded out - so check your remind stream for the code
